Ann & Tony’s Italian Restaurant

Whenever we travel, my husband and I love to find local Mom ‘n Pop restaurants to try. While visiting friends recently, we stopped at Ann & Tony’s Restaurant in West Jefferson, Ohio. Oh, my. What a lovely little gem. This family owned Italian restaurant has a friendly, small town charm that makes you feel welcomed, and a marinara that makes you glad you stopped.

It happened to be lunch time as we passed through, so we stopped for a quick bite and I am so glad we did. Their lunch menu has your more popular pasta dishes and a couple combination platters. Lunch started with a basic tossed salad that had a tasty, light, house vinaigrette. My daughter can never pick which pasta she wants, so the combination platter was definitely the way to go. Her meal consisted of lasagna, chicken parmigiana and spaghetti. I went a little simpler: spaghetti with mushrooms and a side of fettuccini alfredo. I love mixing the alfredo sauce with the marinara. I’m drooling just remembering it. My husband is a traditional man and had spaghetti with meatballs and mushrooms. I’m a little jealous of the look of pure pleasure he had eating his made-from-scratch meatballs; lol, I don’t think he looks at me with that much desire.

Our waitress was prompt and pleasant when taking our order and checking on us throughout our meal. Our lunch also came out without much wait and was simply delicious. The prices were very reasonable as well, which is always a bonus. This is a true family restaurant with simple, hearty meals on full size plates with full size flavor. This is not a Michelin star restaurant with fancy frou-frou meals that consist of two bites. If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault.

This will definitely be on our list for a repeat visit. If you ever find yourself driving near West Jefferson, Ohio, be sure and detour over to Ann & Tony’s. It is completely worth it.
